WTO Backs EU Tariffs

Finally, a WTO ruling on retaliatory tariffs against subsidies for Boeing sets the stage for a new round of negotiation. Most analysts agree that the current state of EU-US Trade is perilous – the ongoing COVID -19 crisis has exposed a underlying weakness in JIT supply chain management, and many companies are waiting on the results of the US Election to give them a reference point going forward. Meanwhile, Ursula von der Leyen has her hands full with a whole slew of Brexit-related challenges, including state aid rules, fisheries rights and prohibitions against Britain dumping little-regulated products on the huge EU market.
