Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure this summer, you’re going to need to pack a little extra patience. Staffing issues are hitting the industry hard, with many service-level jobs going unfilled for a variety of reasons. The cause of the shortage is hotly debated – some blame the U.S. govt’s extra $300, others point to the fact that many workers who got laid off due to COVID went on to find better-paying jobs with more flexible schedules. Many tourist destinations continue to operate with limited capacity, and forget about getting a drink at the hotel bar; there's no one to pour it! Oh, and BTW, a rental car will cost you twice what it did the last time. Road warriors, be advised- it’s tough out there.
